Assistance is available to specialized communities from (1) Legal Counsel for the Elderly - 434-2120, (2) Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia - 628-1161, (3) Neighborhood Legal Services - 269-5100 and 678-2000, (4) University Legal Services - 547-0198, and (5) the Probate Resource Center, a project of the DC Bar Pro Bono Program. Appointments with volunteer attorneys from the Probate Resource Center are at the courthouse and are available only with regard to petitions post appointment and initial filings to open a guardianship or conservatorship of an adult.
