D.C. COURTS TO HONOR COMMUNITY LEADERS WITH "CORO" AWARDS AS PART OFHISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH FESTIVITIES

As the culmination of its celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the District of Columbia Courts will host an awards ceremony this Thursday at 3:00 pm.  

WHAT: CORO Awards Ceremony  

WHERE: Jurors Lounge, 3rd floor, Moultrie Courthouse, 500 Indiana Avenue, NW  

WHEN: Thursday, October 16th at 3:30pm  

Each year the Courts host a CORO Awards Ceremony - Coro, the Spanish word for choir, stands for Community, Outreach, Recognition and Opportunity. These awards are given in recognition of those whose outstanding service to the Latino community has enhanced the lives of Latinos in the District of Columbia. This year the awardees will be: James F. Oyster Bilingual Elementary School; Spanish Catholic Center; EOFULA Spanish Senior Center; and the Office of Interpreting Services for the District of Columbia Courts.  

Music and food will be provided at a reception following the awards. The public is welcome to attend.
